The Korea Importers Association has awarded plaques to six foreign diplomats in appreciation of their work to boost trade to Korea.

Six Koreans and six foreigners received the awards for their significant contributions to enhancing trade relations between Korea and foreign countries.

KOIMA chairman Lee Ju-Tae presented the plaques to ambassadors Ngovi Kitau of Kenya, Pekka Juhani Wuoristo of Finland, Chaiyong Satjipanon of Thailand, Nicolas Trujillo Newlin of Ecuador and Naci Saribas of Turkey and Vietnam Embassy’s commercial counselor Le An Hai.

“I remain confident that you will continue supporting all the endeavors of KOIMA with your strong leadership and great passion,” wrote chairman Lee Ju-Tae in a letter of appreciation to the ambassadors.

KOIMA is Korea’s only import-related organization and works to develop the Korean economy by promoting trade.

The plaques were presented to the ambassadors at the organization’s 49th general assembly at the War Memorial of Korea on Feb 29.
