Multi-talented singer Solbi is holding the first solo exhibition of her paintings in July.

Titled “Another Name of Desire,” the exhibition will feature 12 paintings that reflect her own way of observing the world, according to her agency.

Solbi has been active not only in singing, but also in broadcasting, musicals and acting. And now she hopes to expand her genre to painting.

“I want to be brave and challenge many things in life and live a splendid life,” she told a local daily.

Solbi debuted as a member of the singing group Typhoon in 2006, and became famous after appearing on the MBC reality show “We Got Married” in 2008.

She has reportedly been attending art classes for two years.

Her agency said her paintings reflect personal feelings, psychological state and experiences as a celebrity hitherto untold.

One of the highlights of the exhibition, “Current Address or Tilted State,” criticizes materialism dominating the society.

“Our life is in continuous pursuit of happiness and comfort, which I expressed with a variety of everyday objects and filled the canvas with them,” she told a local daily.

The exhibition is scheduled to be held from July 10-24 at the French restaurant La Ville de Pins in Sinsa-dong, Seoul. For more information, call (02) 517-8400.
