In a fresh push to expand customer service amid its soaring car sales here, Volkswagen Korea has started a new winter campaign, offering full support to car owners who are stuck in the snow.

According to the company, drivers experiencing difficulties can call a 24-hour hotline to have their cars inspected or towed to a nearby service center. VW drivers will also be offered 50,000 won for alternative transportation.

For those who have had the car for less than a year, Volkswagen will offer up to 200,000 won in compensation for any inconveniences experienced or economic losses incurred.

For repairing seriously damaged cars, the company will share up to 20 percent of the total costs, officials said.

Touting the service as unprecedented within the nation’s import car industry, Volkswagen Korea said the Accident Damage Support Campaign will continue through to Feb. 28 through its 25 service centers nationwide.
