The rumors have at last come true. All five members of veteran K-pop idol group g.o.d. have officially reunited and made a full comeback after 12 years apart with the single “The Lone Duckling.”

“The Lone Duckling,” written by renowned Korean producer duo Double Kick, is a slow, sentimental ballad that compares oneself, who is going through heartache, to a lost ugly duckling. g.o.d. is slated to showcase its signature vocals and harmonies in the new single.

The group announced last week that it will donate all proceeds from the track to the families of the victims of the Sewol ferry accident.

All five original stars of g.o.d. ― Kim Tae-woo, Son Ho-young, Danny Ahn, Park Jun-hyung and Yoon Kye-sang ― came together for the new release in celebration of the 15th anniversary of their debut, according to their management sidusHQ.

“Since each member of g.o.d. had been pursuing an independent career, it took a lot of discussion and planning to organize the comeback,” said sidusHQ. “It could not have happened without the will of the g.o.d. members and the support of fans.”

g.o.d. is set to release a full studio album in July and hold two concerts celebrating its anniversary on July 12 and 13 at the Auxiliary Stadium at Jamsil Sports Complex in Seoul.

Pop group g.o.d. (Groove Overdose) first made its debut in 1999 with the single “Dear Mother” and shot to stardom with a number of hit tracks such as “Lie,” “One Candle,” “Love and Memories,” and “Road” among many others.

Yoon Kye-sang left the group in 2002. The group released its seventh studio album “Into The Sky” without Yoon in 2005, and indefinitely parted ways the following year to pursue individual paths under separate management agencies.
